This is a really hard post for me to help Mom write. I wish it wasn’t necessary — but my paws say it is.
When I fly along on rescue missions, I see things I don’t ever forget. So many of the shelters we help are overcrowded, underfunded, and stretched far beyond what their hearts can handle. And one of the things they don’t have — the thing dogs need most — is warmth.
No blankets.
No towels.
No soft place to curl up.
Puppies, seniors, and sick or injured dogs are often sleeping directly on cold concrete floors. When we arrive to fly them to safety, there is sometimes nothing to wrap them in… nothing to comfort them during the most frightening moments of their lives.
That’s why we’re asking — urgently — for help.
We are kicking this off with The Tin Pig as our main drop-off location, and my tail wags knowing how much that community loves dogs like me. If you’ve ever visited The Tin Pig, you already know how big the hearts are there.
We are desperately trying to get:
• Clean blankets
• Bath towels
• Old throws or fleece blankets
They don’t need to be new.
They don’t need to be fancy.
They just need to be warm. ❤️
Even one blanket makes a difference.
Even one towel can bring comfort.
Drop-off locations:
🛍️ The Tin Pig
127 E Main Street
Youngsville, NC
✈️ Triangle North Executive Airport
440 Airport Road
Louisburg, NC
These donations go directly to dogs who are waiting — often on borrowed time — for their chance at safety. Your blanket might be the only soft thing they have tonight. It might be the first kindness they’ve felt in a very long time.
If you’ve ever wondered how you could help rescue dogs like me… this is it.
From my little rescue heart (and from Mom and Dad too), thank you for caring when it matters most.
Love always,
Abigail 🐾✈️❤️
